Your Questions Answered

Common Questions

How do I know which treatment is right for me?
A complimentary consultation with Leisha will help determine the best approach based on your skin type, concerns, and goals. Many patients benefit from a combination of treatments alternated over time.
Can these treatments be combined?
Yes. Exceed™ and PicoWay® Resolve are often alternated in a series to address both texture and pigmentation simultaneously. Leisha will design a personalized protocol during your consultation.
Are these treatments safe for darker skin tones?
Exceed™ Microneedling is safe for all skin tones. PicoWay® Resolve uses photoacoustic rather than thermal energy, making it safer for darker skin types than many other lasers — though settings must be carefully adjusted by an experienced provider.
How soon will I see results?
Many patients notice improvement after the first session, with optimal results appearing over 3–6 months as new collagen forms. A series of treatments is recommended for best outcomes.
Can Light & Bright treat wrinkles and skin texture?
Yes. The Frax 1550™ fractional laser component of Light & Bright stimulates deep collagen and elastin production, which softens fine lines, tightens pores, and improves overall skin texture over time. The IPL component simultaneously addresses redness and sun damage for a comprehensive result.
Is there downtime with Light & Bright?
You may experience redness and mild swelling for 24–48 hours. The Frax laser component may cause a sandpaper-like texture for a few days as the skin heals. Most patients return to normal activities the next day.
How often should I get Light & Bright treatments?
We recommend an initial series of 1–3 treatments followed by maintenance every 3–6 months to sustain collagen stimulation and keep skin looking its best.

Guide

Tulsa Guide to Skin Rejuvenation

Understanding how each treatment works helps you make an informed decision about your skin.

What to Know

5 Things to Know Before Your First Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

  1. 1

A consultation is the starting point.

Every skin rejuvenation plan at 86 INK begins with a thorough consultation. Leisha will assess your skin type, Fitzpatrick classification, active concerns, and goals before recommending a treatment or series. There is no one-size-fits-all protocol.

  2. 2

    Results build over time.

Collagen remodeling is a gradual process. While some patients notice improvement after the first session, optimal results typically appear over 3–6 months as new collagen and elastin mature. A series of treatments is recommended for best outcomes.

  3. 3

    Sun protection is required.

Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30+ is essential before and after any skin rejuvenation treatment. UV exposure can compromise results, increase downtime, and raise the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — especially in the weeks immediately following treatment.

  4. 4

Skin tone matters for treatment selection.

Fitzpatrick skin type influences which treatments are safest and most effective. Exceed™ Microneedling is safe for all skin tones. PicoWay® Resolve is safer for medium to darker tones than IPL or ablative lasers. Your provider will select and adjust treatment parameters based on your individual skin assessment.

  5. 5

Medical-grade treatments require a medical provider.

The treatments offered at 86 INK are medical-grade procedures performed by a licensed FNP-C. This is not a spa setting. The level of device energy, topical anesthesia, and clinical oversight available at 86 INK is not available at non-medical aesthetic practices.
