During Laser Treatment
What to Expect
Pigment may oxidize during treatment and can temporarily appear darker or shift in tone. This temporary color change is a normal part of the PMU removal process before fading begins.
First 24–72 Hours
Immediate Aftercare
- Keep the area clean, and apply a gentle unscented moisturizer
- Avoid cosmetics on the brows and strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Avoid soaking in water or lakes until skin has normalized
Days 3–7
Surface Healing
- Dryness, flaking, or light scabbing may occur
- Do not pick, scratch, or exfoliate
- The skin continues surface healing during this phase
Weeks 1–3
Color Change Phase
Pigment may appear darker or shift in tone, including grey, orange, yellow, pink, or red. This oxidation phase is normal and temporary.
Weeks 3–6+
Fading Phase
Gradual fading begins as the body clears disrupted pigment. Improvement continues between sessions.
Throughout Your Treatment Series
Speed Up the Process
- Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
- After the area has recovered, regular exercise can support circulation
- After the area has healed, gentle massage may help break up pigment particles further
Return for treatment in 6–8 weeks.
