Your personalized plan
We evaluate your tattoo — ink colors, depth, skin type — and build a realistic treatment plan with honest expectations and a session estimate.
First Session
PicoWay® laser treatment
The PicoWay® delivers ultra-short picosecond pulses to shatter ink particles. Zimmer Cryo 7 cooling keeps you comfortable throughout.
Healing Interval
8–12 weeks between sessions
Your immune system naturally clears the fragmented ink. We provide detailed aftercare instructions to support optimal healing and fading.
Repeat & Reveal
5–12 sessions typical
Each session fades the tattoo further. Most patients see significant clearance within the first few treatments, with final results continuing to improve for months after the last session.
Every journey is unique. Results and session counts vary based on ink, skin type, and individual healing response.

Common Questions
PicoWay® vs Traditional Nanosecond Lasers
| Feature | PicoWay® (Picosecond) | Traditional Q-Switch (Nanosecond) |
|---|---|---|
| Pulse duration | Picoseconds (trillionths of a second) | Nanoseconds (billionths of a second) |
| Mechanism | Photoacoustic shattering — minimal heat | Photothermal — relies on heat |
| Particle size | Microscopic fragments, faster immune clearance | Larger fragments, slower clearance |
| Sessions required | Typically fewer | Often more sessions needed |
| Color range | All colors including blues, greens, yellows | Limited on resistant colors |
| Darker skin types | Safer — lower thermal risk | Higher risk of hypopigmentation |
| Downtime | Minimal — faster healing | Longer healing due to heat |
Results vary by individual. A consultation is required to determine the appropriate treatment plan for your specific tattoo and skin type.

5 Things to Know Before Laser Tattoo Removal
- 1
Multiple sessions are always required.
No laser can remove a tattoo in one session. The ink must be shattered in stages and cleared by your immune system over weeks between appointments. Sessions are spaced 8–12 weeks apart to give your body adequate time to process the fragmented particles.
- 2
Ink color directly impacts results.
Black and dark inks respond fastest. Bright colors — particularly yellows, greens, and light blues — are more resistant and may require additional sessions or specialized wavelengths. Your provider will assess your specific ink palette at consultation.
- 3
Your immune system does the clearing.
The laser breaks ink into microscopic fragments, but your lymphatic system is responsible for carrying those fragments away. Staying well-hydrated, avoiding smoking, and maintaining cardiovascular health can support faster clearance between sessions.
- 4
Aftercare directly affects your outcome.
Proper aftercare — keeping the area clean, protected from sun exposure, and moisturized with the right products — is essential for healing and minimizing complications. Avoid Aquaphor, Neosporin, and Vaseline, which can trap heat and impede healing.
- 5
Results vary by individual.
No two tattoos or immune systems are the same. While most tattoos can be significantly faded or fully cleared, complete removal cannot be guaranteed for every patient. An honest, individualized assessment is provided at your consultation.
